Personality: P'lan doesn't think of himself as a bad guy, though his temper says otherwise. He is merely ambitious, driven and willing to do anything to achieve his goals. If that requires something less than "good" or "right" then that is what it requires and he does it. The quickest way to anger the Onyxrider is to try and take something that he sees as his.

History: Pyarelan was born the only son of a trader, who was not a good man. When his son didn't do exactly what he wanted or didn't do it quickly enough, the man was quick to punish him with physical violence. It hardened Pyarelan and made him determined to survive, succeed and be someone important.
Impressing Svarth and becoming P'lan at seventeen turns old, only made him more determined and he focused his whole attention to becoming Weyrleader and training Svarth to catch Panitath. His dragon is the only being he has ever shown real love and affection to.
P'lan had been Standing for several turns, alongside T'lyn, yet when he Impressed an Onyx, he couldn't help but hold it over the younger male's head. It is P'lan that T'lyn punches when the weyrling started to talk about T'lyn's foster mother, Corspa. It's from P'lan that T'lyn learns about his foster mother's Violet who had gone between, and shortly after, P'lan finds himself on the ground, Svarth still to small to help.

Dragon color: Onyx - A light dusting of grey marrs his perfectly black hide, along his left shoulder. He may be an Onyx, but the black of his hide is so black, that there are patches which almost look dark blue, making some wonder when they are mad at this brute of a dragon wether or not he should be called a dark Topaz, but none would say that to his snout.

Dragon personality: Much like his Rider, Svarth is an aggressive, pushy, and annoying dragon to those who know him, but despise him none the less. Told from hatchling, by P'lan, that the Weyr should belong to them, Svarth has made it his personal goal to unseat Mnelth, even if he has to kill the dragon, and take Panitath for himself.
