[/blockquote][/blockquote]At one point in time, Hadi Weyr was the top Weyr, as far as producing Gold's, and the largest clutchs. Out of the seven other Weyr's, Hadi had strong Weyrwoman and strong Weyrleader. Their blood-lines were strong, both dragon and human. One such strong leading pair was Senior Weyrwoman Halena of Gold Tatath and Senior Weyrleader C'lir of Bronze Cometh.
Tatath was an older Gold, known for producing large clutches, with two or three Golds each clutch. Cometh was always the one to Fly her, the Gold not allwoing any other dragon near her during her Rises. Thus the position of Weyrleader stayed the same for almost twenty turns. Then one day, Cometh wasn't his normal color, his dark rusty bronze hide, nothing more than light brown, while his eyes weren't focusing, nor showing any interesting colors. C'lir had every dragonhealer and Masterhealer at the Weyr within the hour.
Within a fortnight, Bronze Cometh went between, the healers unsure what had gone wrong. One moment the Bronze had looked like he would pull through, then the next, he roared a final good-bye to Tatath and went between. C'lir became Camulir, and the position of Senior Weyrleader opened up, while the Junior Weyrleader, P'yrn of Brown Morth, took up C'lir's duties. Gold Tatath didn't make it a sevenday without her mate, and soon the Gold and her Rider went between, leaving the Junior Weyrwoman, Shaleni of Gold Kasuth to step forward.
The string of events became known as The Plague. No healer, when called, could be sure wither or not the dragons would pull through. Many dragons were lost, mainly Golds and Bronzes, while Blues and Greens were hardly touched. Browns tended to fair well, while 50% went between.
A couple of Turns later, an interesting thing started to happen to the clutches of Golds. They were starting to produce new colors. With the arrival of the first of the new colors, a pale violet female dragon that was Impressed by a young, barely over twelve turn old girl, seemed to be strong. As she grew, it also seemed that this new Violet, as she was called, was also able to live among the sick dragons and be unaffected. Another Gold clutch was lain on the sands and more new colors appeared. More Violets of various shades. Lighter Blues that took the name Topazs. Flaming red Crimsons that tended to Impress the more hot-tempered candidates. Cool green Jades that seemed to have the same understanding as the Greens, only bigger. Light grey dragonets that were dubbed Silvers, for the way that their hide seemed to sparkle in the light. Finally, the midnight black Onyxs that seemed to replace the Bronzes.
More and more of the new colors started to appear among the clutches, until it finally happened. The very first Violet Rose, while the remaining Bronzes, Browns, Blues, along with the Silvers, Topazs, and the Onyxs took after her. In the end, it was an Onyx that caught the Violet. The Bronzes, Browns, and Blues would never again be seen among the clutches.
The final original colors went between, while the newer colors seemed to boom within the few short turns it took for the Plague to take the last of the original colors. With only Violets, Onyxs, Silvers, Crimsons, Topazs, and Jades seeming to be in the sky. The next question was how were the other Weyrs. No other Weyr's dragons survived the Plague. Hadi Weyr was the last.
Present
The origin of The Plague was unknown, and still is, as many dragons were claimed by it. Yet, since the last of the original colors went between there has been no signs of the Plague still among the dragons. Hadi Weyr is still the strongest Weyr, but it is stretched to its limits. Bigger and bigger clutches as being laid, as if readying for something bad, yet fewer and fewer Candidates are Standing. More and more hatchlings are going between, yet where are they going after that?
Senior Weyrwoman Lilia of Violet Panitath and Senior Weyrleader T'lyn of Onyx Mnelth are starting to look to the mountains that surround their Weyr. Yet, everytime they find a suitable area within the mountains to start a new Weyr, and they move some herdbeasts there, it doesn't take a day for the plans to fall apart. When fingers are pointed, they always land back on this Violet and Onyx pair, yet neither have answers for why they can't settle within the mountains. Until one day.
While flying over the area Hadi Weyr had wanted to start anew, a Silverrider noticed that there was movement on the ground. When he brought around his Silver to check out the movement, the Silver was ordered away by an unknown force. There was only two that had the power of the Silver; it's Rider and the Violets of Hadi Weyr. Yet, there had been no Violet coloring along the ground that day. Only shadows.
New searches have been set up, yet each time it is the same; the dragons are ordered back to Hadi Weyr. Who is sending the dragons back against their Rider's wishes? There are more questions, some you must answer. Help Hadi Weyr figure out the mystery as to what is within the mountains that guard them.
